Ellis Permann is a nationally recognized dance instructor and competitor with over seven years of experience training, teaching, and competing across the U.S. and internationally. She specializes in Country Swing, Two-Step, and West Coast Swing, and currently competes at the Advanced WSDC level in West Coast Swing.

Ellis has trained with some of the best coaches in the industry and has earned multiple first-place finishes in Jack & Jill and Strictly Swing divisions, along with numerous belt buckles from Country Swing competitions. Her teaching style blends strong technical training with a focus on fun, connection, and musical expression.

Outside of the competition floor, Ellis shares her passion for dance with a growing online community of over 190,000 followers. She created one of the first comprehensive online Country Swing courses for both beginners and experienced dancers, as well as two specialized lifts and tricks course designed to promote safety and confidence.

You’ll often find Ellis teaching workshops or at conventions around the country, or closer to home at Inspira’s Country Night in Arlington, VA, where she teaches most Thursdays. She also offers private coaching during the week, helping dancers of all levels grow their skills and find joy on the dance floor.
