Meet
Kelsey Oertly
Kelsey’s dance journey started the way all great stories do—accidentally. With no prior dance experience, she found herself pulled onto the dance floor and quickly fell in love with partner dancing. What started as a spontaneous night out turned into a passion that continues to grow.
She first built her foundation in Two-Step, progressing quickly into intermediate and advanced levels. Not long after, Kelsey discovered country swing and also progressed to intermediate and advanced levels, which has become her favorite style and where her dancing really comes to life. Her movement blends clean technique, strong timing, and expressive styling—with just the right amount of flair (and yes, a well-timed body roll never hurts). While country swing and Two-Step are her primary focus, Kelsey also trains in West Coast Swing, continuing to develop her versatility, musicality, and connection as a dancer. She actively seeks out opportunities to grow and refine her craft, both socially and competitively.
Kelsey has competed extensively, consistently placing and winning in country dance divisions. Her experience on the competition floor directly shapes her approach to both dancing and teaching, with a strong emphasis on fundamentals as the key to confident, safe, and enjoyable movement. She’s known for bringing both skill and personality to the floor. She might be laughing, styling, or throwing in something unexpected—but don’t be fooled, there’s strong technique and intention behind it all. As an instructor, Kelsey is all about keeping dance fun without sacrificing quality. She believes you can have clean, safe, confident dancing and enjoy every second of it. Her classes focus on solid fundamentals, musicality, and styling that feels natural—not forced. Her goal is simple: to help every dancer feel more confident, more capable, and excited to step onto the floor. So whether you catch her in a class or out social dancing, expect a mix of solid dancing, a little sass, and a whole lot of fun.
